Hey guys, welcome to my weekly column 'A view from Brazil'. First of all I want to thank TIGERLINK for giving me the opportunity to write here and share my opinion on what’s happening with our club.

For my first blog I would like to talk about our pre-season and the European adventure that began last month!

During the close season I think that Steve Bruce has made some great signings, bringing in quality and youth to the squad and we sure have a stronger squad this season. The squad looks promising for the future with so many young players who are all talented footballers.

The Europa League Third Qualifying Round saw us beat AS Trencin to progress to tonight's game in Belgium. It was tough and Trencin played well, but we did what was expected against a weaker team despite not being in our best form. I believe that our level of playing will only get better now - and will need to, because our opponents will only get stronger if we qualify for the Europa League proper. Lokeren will be a good test for us!

I am a big fan of Liam Rosenior and the other thing that the Europa League and pre-season games have shown me is that Rosenior should start. I don’t care if Steve Bruce plays him on the left or on the right, but he needs to be a starter. He is one of the most reliable players that we have in our squad, really strong in defence and supports our attacking play. Liam is one of the best English right backs in my opinion and extremely underrated.

At the other end of the pitch, now Long has gone we will need someone good to replace him (even though we have lots of quality in Aluko and Ince) and I hope we can buy a quality striker.

That’s all for now - thanks for reading!

C'mon the Tigers!
